Rocky, Hanna & Baku in June 2003
|
Hello:) Hope You enjoy your visit and come back to check on us again!
My name is Hanna and I live in Vantaa, Finland. I have two dobermanns at the moment, O'zone Baku, "Baku" & Dascha vom Havelland, "Dascha". From "In Memoriam"-link You can find information about my former dobermann, Papanas Prince, "Rocky".
Dascha, Hanna ja Baku, April 2007 I have been interested in animals all my life. With my sister we had several rodents (e.g. hamsters & guinea pigs) when we were younger. We also almost lived at the horsestables.. Horses are still important to me, but unfortunately I don't have any time to take care of them. My first own dog was Rocky. I got him in August 1994. Our father drove us to the city of Porvoo to get Rocky from Kennel Papanas. We didn't have a map, nor a correct address.. We almost returned home without a puppy..:) Fortunately we finally found there and small black creature came home with us. After some years, I moved away from home. I left Rocky there with my parents because he had more company there as my studying took so much time. I live very close to them, so I took Rocky for a long walks or training every day. I want to send special thanks to my parents who have so kindly devoted their time to taking care of my Rocky. With Rocky I trained obedience and tracking. We were in a few obedience trials with variable success.. Fall 2002 almost became Rocky's last. He had a torsion of the stomach and he almost died. Luckily he survived due to quick medical care. He went for a long walks and running with Baku. And of course, tracking. He just loved it! Rocky had a very nice character. He was a little shy, but he was the best dog a girl could have as a first dog! At 7.2.2004 Rocky died, at the age of 9,5 years. His heart stopped beating, although he didn't have any specific heart problem. Thank You Rocky for all these years! At some point I started to have thoughts about a dog I could go to trials with. Rocky was very sensitive to sound of gunshot, so I couldn't compete with him working breeds trials. After I got the permission from my partner, to get another dog, I knew where I wanted to take my puppy. And the combination was just perfect! I contacted the breeder from Kennel O'zone, Outi, and made my reservation for a puppy. And long waiting began.. Finally the puppies were born. Baku came to live with us in July 2002. Already in the first week we started tracking and training contact:) Baku isn't a very easy dog to train for me, but we'll see what the future brings!
Hanna & Baku, April 2005 Already at this point I want to thank Baku's breeder Outi and all my other friends too, especially Nanna & Merita, for helping me in training my both dogs! Maybe some day I'll learn too:) We have passed the BH-test (2004) and have few results from Obediende (TK1 2004; TK2 2005). And in the future we're hoping to compete in the national trial, tracking, again. Our first try (8/2005) wasn't so good, better luck next time:) In February 2006 I took Baku to the vet to check on his neck and spine. He had few symptoms that I wanted to be checked. X-ray showed abnormality in neck vertebrae, atypival wobbler. It doesn't bother his life at this moment, but we won't be competing in national trials anymore. Now we train mainly obedience and field tracking. In 2005 I started thinking about another dog. It took a while to find interesting puppy, but now she is here! Dascha vom Havelland moved with us in May 2006 from Germany. Dascha has been very nice dog to train, although she is totally different from my previous dogs. Well, I think she will teach me lots of new training techniques...;) Dascha is my first female, and they really are different from males. I have big hopes for her, let's see what future brings for us!
Hanna & Dascha, May 2006 Besides dogs, I am also an active member of the Finnish Dobermann Club. I started in 1999 by helping in a Match Show (unofficial show). I was hanging around in every possible happening, helping and learning. 2000-2004 I took take care of Finnish Dobermann Club's items sale (books, clothes etc.) with Nanna Moisio. After a while I started to help FDC's web team by updating our club's items sales pages in the net. Little by little my area of activity expanded and for some time now, I have been webmastering the Finnish Dobermann Club's homepage. I received FDC's bronze medallion in 2003. I was very flattered! I also got Finnish Working Dog Association's bronze medallion by Helsingin Vetokoirakerho ry.
Dascha, Hanna ja Baku, September 2007 So my hobbies involves animals. I also have a weird interest to designing and building websites:) Here are links to websites I have designed entirely or partially or that I am webmastering: Finnish Dobermann Club - Trial & Training Committee Dobermanns Rambo & Saga Kennel O'zone Mirkan Mopsit Scandic Scandal's Dobermanns Musketeer's Yasmin Well, that's probably enough about me! Have a look at my pages and feel free to give feedback by e-mail or to my Guestbook. You can also see me at most of FDC's events, feel free to come and talk to me! Nice of You to drop by, welcome again! Hanna, Baku & Dascha |
